It feels good to be back!

I have been looking forward to snowboarding since last April. This morning was beautiful and a perfect day to get the rust off the edges of me and my snowboard! We got up early this morning, had some coffee, and hit the road. There was a light dusting of snow from last night, so it was soft, and luminous in the light. We drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon to a little spot where there are jibs set up in the preseason. About 40 feet off the road we found a nice little flat rail.
Unfortunately the rail had a gnarly indention in the middle, so doing boardslides and frontboards would have been death. Luckily we snowboarders can hit rails in many different fashions, so I started off easy with some 5-0s. After a little warming up it was time to do some 180s off and get some presses in there too.
We got up early enough that we were the only people there and had the whole jib to ourselves. A much better environment to really get stuff done. Get in, get out, and get on with it!
